Sidemen

What? 

Sidemen Valley is in Karangasem regency, East Bali. You will find many tourist attractions in this area, such as Mount Agung, the highest mountain in Bali, the Telaga Waja River where you can go rafting in East Bali, the charming seaside town of Candidasa, the ancient village of Tenganan – one of the most unique villages in Bali.

The Sidemen area is known for its weaving, traditionally done by the women of the village. If you have the chance to explore the village with a local guide, be sure to see this ancient tradition.

Where?

Sidemen Valley is in Karangasem Regency, East Bali, only an hour and a half from the international airport.

How?

The distance between Sidemen and Ubud is 21 km. The distance by road is 33.5 km. Sidemen is a 90-minute drive from Seminyak and less than two hours from Canggu. The cheapest way to get from Ubud to Sidemen is to drive, which costs Rp55000 – Rp85000 and takes 33 minutes.

When?

The maximum temperature in Sidemen averages 30°C over the year (from 28°C in July to 30°C in November). Rainfall is 2852mm over the year, with a minimum of 61mm in August and a maximum of 410mm in December. The climate is fine for travelling to Sidemen all year round, but the weather is nice from June to October.

How much?

The cost of living in Sidemen is the same as in the rest of Bali (such as Ubud for example)
