Amed

What?

Amed is on the east coast of Bali, and although not as popular as some of the more popular towns, there is a serenity and relaxed lifestyle here that you will be hard pressed to find in the south of the island.

Where?

Amed is a 14 km long strip of fishing villages located in the Karangasem regency on the east coast of Bali, Indonesia. The name of the area Amed is derived from one of its seven villages. The other six are called Jemeluk, Bunutan, Lipah, Selang, Banyuning and Aas.

Amed is just under 3 hour’s drive from Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu or Ubud. To get there, you will need to rent a scooter or opt for a private driver.

How?

For your travels in Amed, prefer scooters!

When?

Although the island can be visited at any time of the year, the best time to visit is from May to September. Currently the weather is dry, and it is easy to explore the island. However, you can enjoy good beach weather at any time of the year.

How much?

The cost of living in Amed is the same as in the rest of Bali (such as Ubud for example)
